Mastering the Art of Influence, Persuasion and Sales will be the number one most important skills you can learn in life to achieve massive success.

Think of persuasion like this: You are helping people to take action, to get them to move through the road blocks that have been holding them back; to move them through all those fears and negative thoughts that are creating all those limitations in their life. You can now help them to move to action instead of thinking about “maybe”, “should”, “could” or “would” or just not doing it at all and giving up on themselves.

I hope you realize that at this point, your whole life is about persuasion, influence and sales. If you have a child, he/she tries to persuade you on a consistent basis. “Dad I don’t want to clean up my room right now I think it would be a better use of my time if I practice my footballs plays”; “Mom can we please go shopping? I will be really, really good.” That’s all persuasion; you work to persuade your child every day.

Think about this: Nothing happens in the world unless it is sold. Millions of people have great ideas, product creations or services that could make them a lot of money, but until those people sell their ideas, nothing will ever happen. That’s what investment is; selling someone your idea. That’s how companies get started; that’s how the world becomes a better place. In reality we live in a world that revolves around persuasion, influence, sales and marketing.

Leaders get people to take action, to understand.  A leader brings a larger vision of what’s possible; they persuade and influence, breaking people out of beliefs that may have been holding them back from years of success and happiness.

The first step in understanding how to become a master persuader is to have influence over you. Once you understand how to influence yourself, you can influence anybody else.

How we talk to ourselves and how we communicate to others determines how we act, and that produces our behavior.

The bottom line is this: Whatever you say to yourself on a consistent basis will influence you and the person you become, and what you say to yourself will start to influence those around you. You will put yourself into those emotional states.

The language you say to yourself is a big reason why you are rich or poor, motivated or unmotivated, have high self esteem or low self esteem, a leader or not a leader. The language you say to your self will influence all your thoughts.

In your quest to achieve success in life, including getting rich, persuasion is probably the best hidden secret that you will ever learn. It is a subject that you have probably failed to master. People like Oprah, Will Smith, Martin Luther King, Donald Trump, Gandhi, Madonna, and Mother Theresa have all learned the art of masterful persuasion. We often think that these people are endowed with brain structures that are different from ours. Why do so few people achieve the same level of success as their heroes? It’s not that our heroes are any smarter or better than the rest of us. They have just learned to do one thing critical to success, and that one thing is something that you can also learn to do.
